Welcome to the Downsizing Olympics: where the events are tough, the competition fierce, and the medals well-earned.
Event 1: The Great Sorting Sprint You move from room to room at record-breaking speed, questioning how you’ve accumulated 48 vases and enough cables to power NASA.
Event 2: The Donation Marathon A test of endurance: how many trips to charity drop-off can one human make in a day? Bonus points if the staff starts recognizing you.
Event 3: Negotiating with Adult Children The toughest event. Kids suddenly want items they ignored for years—“No, Mom, you can’t get rid of that broken chair from my kindergarten room.”
In the end, everyone survives and usually laughs about it. Downsizing may be challenging, but it’s also liberating, and humor makes the process lighter.
